A Landscape Ready for the Camera

Montrose Estates offers production teams a rare combination within a single ownership: 3,440 hectares of varied, cinematic landscape on the eastern shores of Loch Lomond, all accessible through one point of contact. From atmospheric ruins to open water, ancient woodland, working farmland and majestic parkland, the Estate has long attracted film-makers and photographers drawn to its authenticity and visual range.

Just 45 minutes from Glasgow and an hour from Perth, the Estate combines genuine Highland character with practical access for crew, equipment and accommodation.

What We Offer

Loch Shore & Milarrochy Bay — Open water, shoreline and one of Loch Lomond's most photographed stretches of shoreline, with the mountains of the National Park rising beyond.

Ancient Woodland— Native oakwoods, ancient woodland pasture and mature parkland trees offer a range of woodland settings, from dense canopy to open, scattered tree cover.

Parkland & Golf Course — The James Braid-designed Buchanan Castle Golf Club provides manicured parkland, mature specimen trees and the River Endrick as it winds through the course.

Working Farmland — Authentic Scottish farmland across 1,450 hectares, with livestock, traditional farm buildings and stratified hill grazing offering genuine rural texture.

Conic Hill & Highland Boundary Fault — Dramatic upland scenery where the Lowlands meet the Highlands, with panoramic views over Loch Lomond and its islands.

Peatland & Moorland— Moor Park's restored peatland and open moor offer a wilder, more remote aesthetic within easy reach of the rest of the estate.

Working With Us

We work directly with production teams to understand location requirements, agree on access and timing, and support logistics including parking, power and crew welfare. Our on-site accommodation can also house cast and crew for longer shoots, keeping the whole production close at hand.

As a working, lived-in Estate, we ask that all filming respects ongoing farming, conservation and visitor activity — our team will help plan around this from the outset.
